Southampton fans in the Transfer Tavern have hoped for some good news on Deadline Day and it’s come their way in the form of a loan deal.
The Saints have confirmed the arrival of goalkeeper Hassen Mouez on-loan from French outfit OGC Nice until the end of the season, giving manager Claude Puel a reunion with a player he worked with during his time in Ligue 1.
#SaintsFC is pleased to announce the loan signing of goalkeeper @hassen_mouez from @ogcnice! #SaintMouez https://t.co/IR961KJlbP

The 21-year-old goalkeeper has not played a single game for Nice this season and arrives on the south coast to provide competition between the sticks, where the Saints already boast the talents of Fraser Forster and Alex McCarthy.
However, young Mouez can be seen as one for the future and our landlord believes there could be an opportunity for Southampton to make the deal permanent at the end of the season, something the fans at the bar are hoping will materialise.
On social media, the general consensus following the signing was positive as Saints fans welcomed their newest recruit to the club.
