Is This Crazily Hyped £1M Man Really The Answer To Gooners Prayers?

Having already opened up discussions with Costa Rican striker Joel Campbell earlier this summer, it is a suprise that Arsenal have not already welcomed the player to North London.

When news of reported interest from both Manchester United and Real Madrid filtered through to Campbell, along with the promise of higher wages, he broke off negotiations with Arsenal. Although clearly not the most ‘loyal’ player out there, the 19-year old offers exceptional promise and Arsene Wenger would find it difficult to turn down the opportunity to sign the striker at this stage of his career.

Whilst having played a suprisingly small amount of club football, Campbell has already represented the Costa Rican national side six times, scoring two goals, and performing extremely well in the recent Gold Cup. Although there is no questioning the players potential, and his ability with the ball at his feet, there are some question marks over the players mentality. Unfortunately these questions will not go away until the player has a season or two under his belt at the top level, a transition which could be the making or the breaking of the youngster.

Should the deal go ahead, as reported by SkySports, then it is unlikely that Campbell will be able to represent Arsenal immediately even if deemed ready by Wenger, as it is probable that he will not receive a work permit, having only just recently broken into the Costa Rican national team. The deal is likely to cost just £1M and could prove to be quite fruitful for Arsenal should the player live up to the current hype surrounding him.

Well now, when it comes to football, one man has for many years been the most noticeable, the most controversial, and occasionally the most successful blogger this country has ever produced. His pithy words and abrasive style make him as famous off the pitch as he is on it. This man is Escapini. "I love football. Football she's a cruel mistress. She's, she's more than a mistress. She's a wife, she's a mother, she's a daughter, she's an errant child. She's a… she's a… she can make you laugh, she make you cry. She can bring tears me eyes. She can bring blood to me shoulders. She can bring a kettle to the boil." "Cause football is about nothing, unless it's about something and what it is about, is football."
