Is this proof divisive Arsenal man really is one of the best?

The Arsenal fans in the Football Transfer Tavern were not expecting this…

Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud has always been a divisive figure at the Emirates, with the French forward’s relatively 1-dimensional style of play drawing the ire of the Gunners faithful in the Football Transfer Tavern.

One thing that you cannot take away from the Frenchman, though, is that he scores goals – and a lot of them. He has already scored 59 Premier League goals for the Gunners – and that alone is a pretty impressive record, and one that is deserving of a starting role under Wenger.

Where his stats become even more impressive, however, is when you look at how often he scores relative to the minutes that he has on the pitch.

As the Tweet below displays, Giroud averages a goal every 165.5 minutes – a record that places him above the likes of Didier Drogba, Robbie Fowler and even Cristiano Ronaldo.

Wow – who knew that Giroud was so prolific?

Granted, he has scored less than the majority of the other players – but he has also played far less.

Our landlord thinks that he is easily one of Europe’s best…
