Chelsea’s demolition of Man Utd on Sunday was a difficult one to take for the Man Utd fans in the Football Transfer Tavern.
Many of them went into the game expecting a result, but what they actually got was a very convincing defeat at the hands of Antonio Conte’s ruthless Chelsea side.
Nevertheless – many Red Devils in the Tavern remain confident. One line that was brought out last night summed it up quite well was; ‘at least it’s better than David Moyes’ reign – right?’.
Well, no…
According to Kyle Martino on Twitter, United’s 4-0 thumping at Stamford Bridge means that Jose Mourinho has an identical record to David Moyes after 9 games; in a season that saw the Scotsman get sacked not long after.

The Man Utd fans in the Tavern were under the impression that whilst their season wasn’t going particularly well, it was certainly going far better than recent campaigns have gone!
Our landlord thinks that Jose Mourinho could be about to be undone at Man Utd. He has never lost that convincingly in England before – and our landlord thinks that the game could start a worrying trend for the Portuguese boss.
Taxi for Mourinho, anyone?
Ironically, one Man Utd fan in the Tavern is wondering whether David Moyes is still available…
