Hector Bellerin has, undoubtedly, been Arsenal’s greatest success story over the last few years.
Plucked from the Barcelona academy, Arsene Wenger has slowly built the right-back into one of Europe’s finest defenders; and he has really made the right-hand side of the Arsenal defence his own over the last year or 2.
After displacing Mathieu Debuchy, Bellerin has really kicked on – and whilst he has impressed defensively, it would appear that his main achievements lie far further forward.
According to OptaJoe, Bellerin holds the record for the highest number of assists from any defender in the Premier League since the start of last season – with the young Spaniard currently sitting on 6.

This came as a surprise to the Arsenal fans in the Football Transfer Tavern, many of whom have praised the Spaniard for his fine defensive work.
Our landlord thinks that if Arsenal can hang on to Bellerin long-term – the Spaniard could become an Arsenal icon.
Bellerin has played a key role for Arsenal so far this season and is currently sitting on 11 league starts – having picked up 1 assist in the process.
