Celtic have absolutely stormed the Scottish Premiership this season and Brendan Rodgers will be delighted with the way his squad have bounced back from Champions League disappointment early on this campaign.

Their fans here in the Tavern have been extremely happy with how the players have responded to the Champions League group exit, which left the campaign a little lacking in serious competition, with the league well and truly in the bag.

And it was the inability to give any real challenge which has got the landlord here in the pub worried and he thinks the solution is some big-name signings this summer.

The Bhoys are always financially backed and there’s certain players who the fans here in pub think would make cracking additions to a side that must do better in Europe next season.

So with that in mind, here’s 3 signings Celtic should seal to seriously enhance their squad…

James McCarthy

Everton fans haven’t seen a stronger midfield pairing in years, with Morgan Schneiderlin and Idrissa Gueye doing fantastically well in the middle-of-the-park this campaign.

But it’s meant players like James McCarthy have been left out of the squad in recent weeks and he’s certainly a man that might have to move elsewhere to get more first-team minutes going forward.

Celtic fans would love to see a player of his quality in their squad next season but is he good enough to still play in the Premier League or would he prefer to chase European football with the Bhoys?

Maya Yoshida

Whilst Erik Sviatchenko and Jozo Simunovic have built up a decent defensive partnership over the past few months, the likes of Kolo Toure and Dedryck Boyata simply aren’t good enough as replacements at the top level.

And one man Celtic fans here in the pub would like to see move north of the border is Japanese international Maya Yoshida, who often finds himself biding his time on the bench in the current Southampton setup.

He’s a perfectly composed and solid defender and would add some real depth to this Celtic side without breaking the bank either.

Fabian Delph

Manchester City midfielder Fabian Delph hasn’t played much first-team football at all since his move from Aston Villa and surely the time is coming that he wants to experience that buzz of being in and around a first team once again.

And why not move to Celtic, a move that has seen another former Villa man in Scott Sinclair really invent himself once again.

Delph is a quality, quality player but just needs a chance to prove it once again.
