The Newcastle United fans in the Transfer Tavern have had to endure a relatively frustrating summer in terms of big name arrivals.
Indeed, while our resident Geordies have been lucky enough to welcome some signings of late, it’s fair to say they’ve been left wanting Rafa Benitez to conduct much more business ahead of their season opener against Tottenham Hotspur.
So, the Magpies in our bar have largely been reduced to talking about exits from the club this summer and they’ve been greeted with some news on that front today.
Young forward Ivan Toney has joined Wigan Atheltic on loan for the season, after spending time with both Shrewsbury and Scunthorpe United last time out. A talented striker, Benitez is currently light on the ground in that area right now, so it has certainly raised debate online.
With that in mind, here’s a look at how Newcastle fans reacted to Toney’s loan move.
His time will come.. hopefully

It's a shame. He can hit the back of the net, unlike Mitro and Perez!
