The Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern have had a tough few weeks…
An excellent start to the season has been marred in recent weeks by a flurry of poor results.
A few disappointing results against the likes of Chelsea, Watford and Southampton have seen the Toffees slip down the Premier League table and things are not looking good.
Ronald Koeman appears to have lost his way at Goodison Park, and the fact of the matter is that he is already, needing to start turning things around.
A few of the Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern are beginning to question his managerial style, and if he doesn’t turn it around quickly – his longevity as Everton boss will undoubtedly come into question.
The re-opening of the transfer market in January represents a decent time for Koeman to hit the reset button on his season, and this will not only allow him to sign a few players but he will also be able to get rid of a few of his disappointing players too.
With that said, it’s definitely time for Koeman to say bye to these two players in January…
Tom Cleverley
Tom Cleverley is a player that has been expected to reach huge heights in the Premier League – but at present, he is simply not good enough for Everton.
There comes a point where you need to say enough is enough, and at 27-years-old, if Cleverley was going to make a name for himself at the highest level – he already would have done so.
It is clear that he isn’t good enough for a side battling a European finish, as Everton are, and as a result he simply must be moved on.
He has been one of Everton’s most disappointing players this season and he needs to be moved on sooner, rather than later.
Arouna Kone
Arouna Kone is a player that has seemingly been around the Premier League for years – despite doing very little to warrant such a role.
He simply has no place being at Everton anymore, and at 33-years-old – he is simply past his best.
With Lukaku in front of him, he isn’t ever going to get a chance in the Everton first team, and a move abroad makes sense for both club and player.
