For the West Ham United fans parked up at the bar in the Transfer Tavern, Wednesday sees their side travel back up to Old Trafford for their second game with Manchester United in the space of a few short days. 

During the league draw on Sunday, the Hammers showed signs of improvement after a thoroughly dreadful start to their campaign though were ultimately leaving Old Trafford with just a point.

Still, the upcoming EFL Cup quarter-final clash could provide a welcome distraction from their pitiful league form, especially when playing a Manchester United side entirely bereft of confidence and ideas in equal measure.

So, as the old cliche goes, anything can happen in cup football and the Hammers have previously disposed of Chelsea in this competition already.

With that in mind, perhaps making some changes to his squad would be a wise idea.

Considering all of this, here are TWO players Bilic should drop for tomorrow night’s game.

Manuel Lanzini

Last season, Manuel Lanzini and Dimitri Payet lit the Premier League up in the claret and blue of West Ham.

Though, clearly, they remain huge talents, the Argentine in particular has struggled of late.

With Bilic needing goals, a more direct option in the shape of Andre Ayew would be better suited to break behind enemy lines.

Mark Noble

West Ham’s stalwart has been one of many underperformers this season and more dynamic options would be better suited to deal with a Manchester United midfield packed to the rafters with top talent.

Reece Oxford could be a better option.
