Much of the talk amongst our Manchester City supporting locals here in the Transfer Tavern tends to centre around the sort of players Pep Guardiola needs to bring in. 

As good as City can be on their day, the drinkers propping up the bar are fed up of seeing the same obvious frailties cost them week in, week out as the Spaniard struggles to wholly convince of late.

Clearly, he needs to bring in some players, but there’s little doubt some of his current stars are on borrowed time.

Having cleared his ranks out over the summer, the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach has some way to go in truly eradicating the Etihad of all of its deadwood.

The likes of Joe Hart and Samir Nasri were perhaps the biggest victims of his axe, though Guardiola has a lot more work to do on that front.

With all this in mind, here are TWO players he should rid of ASAP.

Fabian Delph

It really hasn’t worked out for Fabian Delph since his controversial move to the Etihad from hometown club Aston Villa, having constantly found himself on the periphery of the first-team.

With Guardiola loving his more technically gifted midfielders, Delph will surely leave as that department becomes increasingly packed.

Jesus Navas

Jesus Navas should be a wonderful out-ball for the intricate play a Guardiola side is so famous for, though the Spaniard has barely convinced at all since joining the club 3 years ago.

Really hasn’t got the footballing brain to flourish under his compatriot and, with his contract soon to expire, should be sold while he still can.
