Currently in 6th position in the Premier League, things are not looking good. The Red Devils have looked consistently poor this year, and things show no sign of improving.
However, whilst the present is not great – the future looks very good indeed.
There are a host of young players in the Man Utd ranks that are impressing – and our landlord thinks that Mourinho should look to utilise them sooner, rather than later. They could really turn his fortunes around.
One of the major criticisms levelled at the 53-year-old throughout his career has been unwillingness to work with young talents, though surely that will have to change when working at Manchester United.
With that in mind, it’s time for Mourinho to give these 3 wonder kids a chance at Man Utd…
Angel Gomes
Angel Gomes is the star of the Man Utd academy.
Whilst he appears like a generic attacking midfielder; he is cut from a very different cloth from most players his age.
He is a technical wizard and can pull off things most players can only dream of. Exquisite on the ball, a hard worker and an eye for a goal – he has everything.
He is still young – but Mourinho has a gem on his hands, and he cannot let him go to waste.
Timothy Fosu-Mensah
Considering that Man Utd have been struggling defensively this season, it is strange that Fosu-Mensah has made just 1 appearance so far.
A solid, versatile defender – Fosu-Mensah is able to play in midfield or defence – and would provide Mourinho with some real cover in those areas.
He looked solid last year, and would likely fare far better than the likes of Ashley Young have done thus far.
Axel Tuanzebe
Axel Tuanzebe broke through the ranks at Man Utd at a very similar time to Marcus Rashford, but has yet to make a similar level of impact.
Like Fosu-Mensah, that is a surprise – as Man Utd have really struggled defensively this year.
He has the technical brilliance and no-nonsense attitude on the pitch that every top player needs, but he is also a top pro off the field too.
Give him a chance, Jose.
