Jack Clarke has been on fire for Leeds United this season, but there could come a time where he is to move on.
Given that Clarke is able to impact games so heavily, whether he is introduced at half-time or starts the game, it is no surprise that he has caught the eye of one of the Premier League’s big boys, more specifically Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp.
Express Sport have reported that even if United go up this season, Klopp is still interested in adding Clarke to his current crop of attacking firepower.
United will be sure to have something to say on that matter but if that was to be the case, this pair should be considered as potential replacements…
Daniel James
James looked all but certain to sign for United in the January transfer window, but the deal fell through. However, that does not mean it cannot happen in the future.
The Welshman could fit into the starting side with Clarke, but if the latter was to leave United, James would also be a fine replacement.
He could feature on either wing and alike Clarke, he is tricky to contain in one-on-ones and very nimble and sharp with his runs on and off the ball in attack.
Patrick Roberts
Roberts had taken his time to adapt to the demands of Spanish football with Girona, but once he had begun to establish himself as a regular starter, he was sidelined with a hamstring injury.
If Clarke was to leave, Roberts would be a solid replacement but United would stand a much better chance of acquiring the 22-year-old if they did make it to the Premier League.
Being so direct and skilful on the ball, as well as possessing a remarkable ability to drop the shoulder and shift the ball whilst moving with it, he would be a player to move for if that right-wing berth becomes vacant.
