Manchester United have lots to ponder after a rather disappointing couple of games, as they failed to get the better of Arsenal last week and Wolverhampton Wanderers crushed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s domestic silverware hopes at Molineux yesterday.
The Red Devils currently sit in fifth position on 58 points with Arsenal in fourth on 60 points. Of course, the race for a top four spot is far from over but United will be disappointed that they now find themselves chasing.
One thing that’s been on the minds of a number of supporters in recent times has been the club’s current managerial situation, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still yet to be offered a permanent role. Although, one thing that could be impacting this is the fact that United have been linked (as per Standard) with a move for Mauricio Pochettino.
And, Jamie Redknapp recently claimed that Manchester United are in pole position to lure the Spurs man away from North London, as per the Daily Mail.
Mauricio Pochettino has worked wonders at Spurs over the years but he’s not quite been able to handle his players in recent times in North London as they continue to slide down the table. But, Manchester United have been chasing him for some time and he’s arguably one of the best managers in world football, so there’s always that attraction.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hasn’t done much wrong since taking over at Old Trafford but fans may still be wary about whether he’s the right man to take them forward, with the recent rough patch casting doubt.
