Crystal Palace centre-back Joachim Andersen has withdrawn from the Denmark squad due to a minor injury, and as to be expected, a number of Palace fans have been reacting to the update on social media.
Andersen, who joined the Eagles over the summer from Lyon in a deal worth £15.75m, has been a regular under Patrick Vieira this season. He has featured in every Premier League game so far, partnering another summer acquisition in Marc Guehi.
The 25-year-old was set to be a part of Kasper Hjulmand’s squad for World Cup qualifiers against the Faroe Islands and Scotland, but he has travelled back to England after failing to recover from a minor injury.
Denmark confirmed the news on Wednesday afternoon, with Andreas Maxso replacing Andersen in the squad.
Palace fans react
It didn’t take long for a number of Eagles supporters to learn of Andersen’s injury, with some fans fearing the worst despite Matt Woosnam labelling it as ‘nothing serious’.
“Sigh”
“Typical”
“Oh brother”
“All good for Burnley?”
“No Andersen-masterclass till Burnley”
“Nothing serious so should be fine for our next game”
