Leeds United and West Ham United have shared plenty of players over the years, with the likes of Rob Green, Rio Ferdinand, Lee Bowyer, Robert Snodgrass and Robbie Keane all representing both clubs.
More recently, Crysencio Summerville and Kalvin Phillips have made the same journey, while West Ham’s summer signing Manor Solomon also spent time at Elland Road.
Now, another Leeds forward looks set to join that growing list.
Piroe Set for West Ham Medical
Leeds United striker Joel Piroe is on his way to West Ham to undergo a medical, with the move edging closer to completion, according to Sky Sports News.
Anthony Joseph, Zinny Boswell and Chris Reidy report that Leeds have given the Dutchman permission to travel after West Ham moved closer to an agreement for his signature.
The proposed deal is understood to be an initial loan containing an obligation to buy, meaning Piroe could make his temporary switch to the London Stadium permanent depending on the terms of the agreement.
Piroe, who was described as “brilliant” by former boss Russell Martin, is now expected to complete the medical before finalising his move.
The forward will be hoping the switch provides an opportunity for regular football and another chance to demonstrate the goalscoring ability that made him such a prolific player during his time in the Championship.
