‘JT replacement that Chelsea deserve’ - Lots of Blues fans want international to join the club

It’s fair to say that Chelsea’s defence was, simply put, not good enough last season. Antonio Conte’s usually unstoppable and rigid backline faltered under the pressure in the Premier League, with nobody really covering themselves in glory. Antonio Rudiger made an okay start to life in England, whilst Cesar Azpilicueta was as solid as ever – but beyond them, mediocrity ran wild.

Gary Cahill was singled out for particular anger by fans, but the likes of Andreas Christensen, Victor Moses, Marcos Alonso and even David Luiz were all frustrating fans at one point or another during the course of the campaign.

It will come as no surprise, then, to see that Chelsea fans have their eye on a new defender.

Harry Maguire has been one of England’s best performers at this summer’s World Cup, and he has delivered some tremendous displays for Leicester City over the last year.

He’s gone under the radar in England somewhat, but he’s excelled in Russia, and everyone knows his name now.

Chelsea fans have taken to Twitter to discuss his form following England’s win over Columbia on Tuesday evening, and it’s fair to say that fans would love their club to sign him. One fan has even touted him as the perfect John ‘JT’ Terry replacement.
