The Brazilian contingent at Anfield has brought nothing but positives to Merseyside.

Lucas Leiva is the oldest of the South Americans in the current Liverpool squad, and while his time at the club may be coming to an end, there is no denying what a fantastic servant he has been for the Reds over the years.

Next is Philippe Coutinho, Liverpool’s very own little magician.

Capable of carving open any Premier League defence at the drop of his hat, shoulder or magic wand, the Brazilian midfielder is one of the club’s, and indeed the league’s, best players and has become a fan favourite at Anfield.

Joining them both is 2015 signing Roberto Firmino, who joined from Hoffenheim when Brendan Rodgers was still at the helm of the club.

While he had a somewhat slow start to his Anfield career, under Jurgen Klopp he looks a man revitalised and is beginning to show his best form especially when operated through the middle as he prefers.

Now while Liverpool look a force this season anyway, there is no doubting that reinforcements in January would do the club no harm.

And with the success of their previously aforementioned boys from Brazil, should Jurgen Klopp look to South America in January? Our landlord thinks these TWO could be perfect for Klopp and his side ….

Liverpool are still in need of an out-and-out striker.

While Divock Origi and Roberto Firmino are both capable of performing the role, neither are likely to grab 20 goals a season for the Reds as both are almost too versatile across the front line and like to come deep, go wide and generally be not in the box at all times.

Daniel Sturridge’s poor form means Jurgen Klopp is likely to look for a striker in January, and 17-year-old Danubio forward Joaquin Ardaiz could fit the bill.

While still young and relatively untested, he has impressed in the Uruguayan top flight and would come a relatively cheap price.

The striker was also born and raised in the same town as fellow countryman Luis Suarez …. Just saying.

Lucas Alario

Another young South American striker on the radar of Jurgen Klopp is River Plate striker Lucas Alario who has scored five goals already this season, three of them coming in the Argentinian top flight.

The 23-year-old has attracted interested from a host of Premier League and European clubs including Tottenham, and reportedly a bid from Liverpool themselves was rejected during the summer as it failed to match his £15.2 million buy out clause.

If Alario’s form continues to prosper however, it could be that the Reds are finally ready to match River Plate’s valuation this coming January.
