Keep, axe or loan? The 3 players who just aren’t good enough for Celtic anymore

Celtic have romped to the Scottish Premier League title this season under Brendan Rodgers, and their fans can safely say this season has been a success.

The Bhoys fans who frequent the Transfer Tavern have had plenty to shout about during the season, and they threw a massive party in here only a few weeks back when the title was sealed.

Since then, things have calmed down, and the Celtic fans have started to turn their attentions to the summer and who might be coming into the club and moving out.

One thing Brendan Rodgers might look to do is shuffle his pack in the summer transfer window, and assess some of his squad members who he thinks might not be offering too much to the team.

With this in mind, here are THREE Celtic players who could well not be good enough for the club come this summer…

Gary Mackay-Steven

The versatile forward has not been involved too much this term and he could well find himself out of the picture come the summer.

Mackay-Steven is not necessarily a bad player, but it just appears that Brendan Rodgers has options he prefers in his squad.

Leigh Griffiths

The Scotland international has been usurped this season by the form of Moussa Dembele, and Griffiths is not one who will want to just sit around on the bench.

The striker has a real eye for goal, and teams in Scotland would no doubt be queuing up to take him of Celtic’s hands if he is available.

Efe Ambrose

The defender is already on loan with Hibernian, and could well be on his way permanently this summer.

The Bhoys have a pretty solid defensive line-up which Brendan Rodgers seems dead set on sticking with, and Ambrose looks to have no way back into the team as it stands.
