The Manchester City supporters here in the Transfer Tavern are a little bit disappointed with how far behind leaders Chelsea the team is at present, with the army of fans hopeful that next season is more fruitful in the Barclays Premier League.

Spanish boss Pep Guardiola will also be hoping to go closer in the Premier League next season and even an FA Cup win wouldn’t be enough for some City fans here in the Tavern who are actually very upset with how the campaign has panned out.

A couple of City fans are sharing a bottle of white wine here in the Tavern and they are talking about the club having a clear out during the summer, with the squad currently littered with far too much deadwood.

Our landlord is intrigued by this and he got himself a bottle of Corona from behind the bar and looked at one fringe player who might be kept at the club, one who might be axed and another who might be well served with a spell out on loan.

Axe – Claudio Bravo

Whoever was responsible for suggesting that the ex-Barcelona stopper would be a decent goalkeeper for a Premier League side such as Manchester City, must have spent much of the night before knocking pints back here in the Transfer Tavern!

Bravo’s first season in English football has been nothing short of a disaster and Bravo should be flogged during the summer, with a goalkeeper likely to be high on City’s list of priorities.

Keep – Nolito

The Spaniard arrived at the Etihad Stadium during the summer but hasn’t played much football during his maiden season in the Premier League.

One City fan is enjoying a bottle of beer with the landlord and he says that he has seen enough from the 30-year-old t to suggest that he can be an asset for the club once he gets used to the way the English game works.

Loan – Kelechi Iheanacho

The Nigerian forward’s Manchester City career has been far too stop-start and he only seems to be trusted to start when Sergio Aguero is either injured or suspended.

At 20-years-old the time really is now for the striker to be playing regular first-team football and a loan move away from Manchester City would be ideal for him.
