Ander Herrera has had a strange time at Man Utd. At points, he’s been their most important player, but he’s also spent time on the edges of the first team, with no route into the side seemingly visible.
That’s exactly what he’s dealing with at the moment. The Spaniard, despite looking good last season, has struggled for minutes under Jose Mourinho this season, and given that his contract expires at the end of the season, that’s a real worry.
He could look to leave the club in search of regular minutes upon the expiry of his deal, or perhaps the Red Devils could look to move him on by not offering him fresh terms.
There’s a very real chance that one of those situations could occur, but it doesn’t appear as though the majority of fans are expecting that to be the case.
We recently asked Man Utd fans whether Herrera is on the verge of an exit at Old Trafford, and 57% of those polled have revealed that they think that he’s not.
So, this seems to indicate that many fans are hopeful that Herrera will stay at the club, and it’s easy to see why. He’s a player with bags of passion and commitment, and that’s something that the Red Devils need as they continue to flounder in the English top flight.
Man Utd, though, are running out of time to secure his future, with the Spaniard able to discuss a move with foreign teams as early as January 2018.
Thoughts?
