New Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha got off to a flying start this weekend as his side comfortably dispatched struggling Hamilton at Ibrox.

Fans here in the Tavern were delighted with the free-flowing and confident football they saw on Saturday afternoon, with their new Portuguese boss well and truly getting the nod of approval from drinkers here in the pub.

Goals from Hyndman, Hill, Waghorn and Wallace were enough to get the job done and open a truly exciting chapter in the club’s long and prestigious history.

But despite the win, Gers punters here in the pub know there is still plenty of work to do going forward and picking up as many points between now and the end of the season is crucial.

Looking ahead to the summer though, it’s set to be a busy few months for Caixinha and his coaches, who will be running the rule over every player in a squad that has struggled in their first season back in the top flight.

So with that in mind and some strongly worded suggestions from our biggest Rangers fans in mind, here’s THREE players who Caixinha has to make a big decision on this summer…

AXE: Clint Hill

He’s the man that can’t stop scoring of late and Rangers fans have watched on suitably amused here in the pub as the former QPR man scored his second goal in as many games this weekend.

But moving forward, the 38-year-old centre-back just isn’t what the club needs going forward and they really need to get some young blood in the back-four next season.

He’s done a good job over the past couple of weeks, but priority number one for Caixinha should be getting fresh talent into a defence that has leaked far too many goals at times this campaign.

AXE: Matt Crooks

A Mark Warburton signing, Matt Crooks arrived at Rangers alongside winger Josh Windass.

Windass has gone onto enjoy far more success in the first-team than Crooks, who fans here in the Tavern think just hasn’t got the quality to take the team forward on a bigger scale.

He’s been on-loan at Scunthorpe United in recent weeks and has done reasonably well, but the gulf in quality needed to make it at this level looks far too big for the midfielder.

KEEP: Kenny Miller

There’s been plenty of chatter here in the Tavern regarding the future of Kenny Miller, who has once again done a great job of scoring goals in the Gers forward line this season.

At 37-years-old, he’s definitely coming towards the end of his career but he’s a real Ibrox legend and deserves another year playing in-front of fans that adore his never-say-never attitude.
