There are six days left of the transfer window and Newcastle United still need a left-back. The club have been linked to Joe Bryan of Bristol City, Ajax’s Nicolas Tagliafico and young PSG man Tanley N’Soki. However, according to The Daily Mail, Kieran Gibbs is a player of interest to Newcastle United, although he could be beyond their current budget.

There’s no doubting that Newcastle needs a left-back this summer. Jesus Gamez and Massadio Haidara have both been allowed to leave the club and with only Paul Dummett in the squad as an orthodox left-back, the fans have been desperate to see someone sign to give the Welshman cover. Gibbs would be a good option but if he’s out of the club’s budget then there’s something very very wrong.
The club completed the signing of Yoshinori Muto this week and with the Japanese international commanding a fee of around £9 million, it seems like Mike Ashley has given the club their ‘marquee signing’ and will now return to his pit to continuing syphoning money out of the club and into his own pocket. The fans will be celebrating the day when Ashley sells the club and will be hopeful that they can sign anyone who can fill in as a left-back in the coming days.

Whilst Gibbs would be a good signing, plenty of fans are fuming at the fact that a relegated West Brom player is out of their budget.
