As quoted by The Mirror, Everton boss Ronald Koeman has said that he is not going to panic despite the Toffees terrible slump in form in recent weeks.
It’s certainly got our Blues fans here in the Transfer Tavern worried after they initially felt they were on for a memorable season.
The men from Goodison Park appeared to have instantly banished the poor form of Roberto Martinez at the start of the campaign with some great performances and looked good to challenge for Europe, but things have gone sour since.
Just one win in the league since September is a damning statistic and the Dutchman Koeman needs to turn things around quickly before they suffer another year of mid-table mediocrity.
The former Southampton boss is relatively calm about the situation, though.
Koeman said: “You can be angry and shout, but it’s better to focus and to tell the players if we need to do something different.
“We have shown some form in the second half of our last two games, and must concentrate on doing that for 90 minutes.
“The team is working well on the training ground, and we must put that on the pitch. That is the message we must put through, not fear.”
Everton lost again at the weekend against Koeman’s old side at St. Mary’s as they try desperately to reignite that early season form.
They are still seventh in the league thanks to their good start but there are now four teams within a win of them in the table ahead of their clash with Manchester United this weekend.
