Latest development suggests boss unlikely to take Rangers post despite talks

There’s been an awful lot of chat in the Transfer Tavern of late surrounding the managerial situation at Rangers.

With the Scottish giants linked with a raft of individuals as they hunt for a man to replace Mark Warburton at Ibrox, our punters have been discussing all sort of options the club could take as they look to close the gap on bitter rivals Celtic.

So reports from HITC have sparked further debate amongst the drinkers propping up the bar. They claim that, despite reported talks between the two parties, former Birmingham City chief Gary Rowett is unlikely to move to Glasgow.

He’s said to have held informal talks with the Gers of the notion of taking over, though they are understood to prefer someone with experience of Scottish football. Rowett himself is believed to be keeping his options open following his sacking (deemed a harsh one by the Bluenoses in the bar) despite the discussions.

Considering Warburton’s record in the big games in Scotland, our local Rangers fans seem to agree someone who would truly understand the role would be a better option.
