The Newcastle fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to their club’s gesture of goodwill as the club has agreed to ease the burden on fans who have been left out of pocket by their fixture change against Everton. The game was supposed to be played on Saturday 21st April 3pm but has been moved to Monday 23rd April at 8pm, meaning a number of fans now have tickets and can’t go. The Geordies propping our bar up are delighted to hear the news about that their club is to try and help the fans as the frustration of late fixtures changes looked to have stung the fans. Many had already booked train tickets and hotels to Liverpool ahead of their game at Goodison Park and looked destined to lose out on what they’d paid, although the northeast club have revealed that they’re doing the most un-Mike Ashley thing possible and have asked fans to keep any relevant travel documents and receipts as they assess how to take the next step.
Any Magpies will be dying to watch their side at the moment. The club has won their last three games on the bounce for the first time since September and face Arsenal at St James Park on Sunday lunchtime. If the club can get a win over Arsenal they’ll be home and dry in terms of the relegation battle. Rafa Benitez’s side are currently ten points clear of the drop zone with six games left, and the fans can relax as they enjoy the end of the season whilst preparing for next year as a Premier League club.

Once tickets are on sale the fixture date / time should not be allowed to change. We had tickets for this game but due to the change I had to be refunded.
