Leeds fans are loving Man City sensation Benjamin Mendy

Leeds United supporters were in fine spirits on Tuesday evening after they moved 3 points clear at the top of the Championship table with a convincing 3-0 win over Preston North End at Elland Road, and the mood was taken up a level by Benjamin Mendy on Twitter.

Despite spending almost the entirety of his Man City career on the sideline since arriving from Monaco last summer, Mendy has established himself as something of a sensation for his antics on social media.

Whether you love it or hate there is no doubt that Mendy’s enthusiasm is somewhat infectious and he’s become quite the popular figure in Manchester and beyond since arriving at the Etihad Stadium.

It appears that Mendy was watching Leeds in action against Preston on Tuesday evening as he tweeted at the end of the game to praise Bielsa for the victory.

And the Leeds fans were absolutely loving Mendy’s tweet as they turned out in huge numbers to reiterate his thoughts and jokingly suggest that new signing Barry Douglas would keep him out the team.

Mendy’s response certainly endeared him to plenty of the Leeds faithful…

Judging by the reaction to Mendy’s interaction on social media it’s fair to say that the Leeds fan base have found a new hero in Man City’s flying full-back.
