Leeds fans are so right: Jay-Roy Grot should get another chance at Elland Road

Leeds United saw a number of players depart this summer when Marcelo Bielsa arrived at the club as the new manager.

A number of players were offloaded permanently, whilst plenty more of the squad were sent out on temporary deals to try and get first-team football, whilst also potentially putting themselves in the shop window.

For the likes of Yosuke Ideguchi, things have not quite gone to plan for the Japan international, as he has suffered a serious injury which has limited his chances of making an impression for anyone, let alone Bielsa.

However, one man appears to be making headway with his performances away from Elland Road this season, which has led to a number of fans taking to Twitter to call for the Argentine to give him the opportunity when he returns.

Jay-Roy Grot has made the most of heading back to the Netherlands to rediscover his form after a nightmare start in Yorkshire.

The striker has produced some solid displays for VVV-Venlo in the Eredivisie so far this season, having netted twice and assisted once in his 11 games so far which has earned him an international call-up to Holland’s Under-21 squad.

And, the Leeds fans are right to be calling for Bielsa to give the player a chance to make amends for his disappointing year at Elland Road.

The Argentine has already shown that he can get the best out of his players, with Mateusz Klich being a prime example.

Grot is very versatile when it comes to the attacking areas and could certainly offer the Whites an extra option going forward, which is something they could look to do with right now as they compete in the Championship.

It remains to be seen on what division Leeds are playing in next season, which could have a huge impact on his chances of playing for them, however, based on his current form, he could be like a new signing once he returns to the club next summer.
