We know it’s a strange time of year to be talking about pre-season plans but bear with us for a minute. Leeds United could be on the cusp of a Premier League return this season, meaning their plans ahead of the 2019/20 season have to be perfect. That’s where these reports from The World Game come in, as they claim that Leeds are to take on Manchester United in Sydney next summer.

As a Leeds fan it doesn’t really get much better than that. Last summer saw the club fly to Myanmar in one of the most controversial post-season trips in recent memory. However, with that now behind them and the Marcelo Bielsa era in full swing, it looks like a tour of Australia could be on the cards with games against Manchester United and Western Sydney Wanderers lined up ahead of their 2019/20 season.
If The Whites do beat the odds and go up this season, be it as champions or whatever else, having an opportunity to test themselves against the likes of Manchester United in front of thousands will be just what the doctor ordered. It’s always normal for Premier League clubs to go abroad to Asia, America and Australia for pre-season tours as they aim to get into top shape for the season, and even though it’s not even December yet, it’s a story that’s got plenty of Leeds fans excited.
