Leeds fans on twitter aren’t Eunan O’Kane’s biggest fans. The Republic of Ireland international is not in Marcelo Bielsa’s plans and whilst he’s missed the cutoff point to make a permanent transfer away, The Yorkshire Evening Post report that Lee Bowyer’s Charlton are interested, although his wage is a stumbling block.

O’Kane signed a contract extension last year that included a pay rise for the midfielder and that seems to have made it tougher to offload him now. He currently has three years left on his contract at Elland Road and with Bielsa not looking likely to change his opinion of the 28-year-old, it looks like he’ll either have to find a new club or rot in the reserves at Elland Road.
Charlton’s interest should come as a saving grace for the midfielder. It’s unlikely that any Championship side will take an interest in the out-of-favour Leeds man, however, he’s supposedly holding out as he wants to play in the Championship this season. The loan window closes in just seven days time and Bower will be hoping he can get O’Kane in at Charlton, whilst the Whites will be hoping for the same thing.

The Whites will be keen to see O’Kane make an exit before the end of the loan window and Charlton could be a great place for him to rediscover his form.
