Leeds fans on Twitter don’t understand Ronaldo Vieira sale

Most Leeds fans were of the impression that Ronaldo Vieira is one that they shouldn’t be selling at any price. The club has previously been stung by selling youth players early and watching them grow to become internationals, and now they’re getting a sense of deja vu as Vieira nears a move to Sampdoria.

As for Ronaldo Vieira, a move to Sampdoria will happen if he passes a medical and agrees personal terms. Wasn’t his choice to seek a transfer but he’s in Italy and that deal is in his hands now. #lufc

As you can see if Phil Hay’s tweet above, the deal all hinges on personal terms being agreed and a medical being completed, which doesn’t take long in modern football. The fans will be sad to see the 20-year-old go and many would have had him down to thrive under Marcelo Bielsa. Unfortunately, the Argentine doesn’t see what the fans see in the academy product and the fans can at least be happy that they’ll be getting a pretty penny for the midfielder.

The current Leeds United squad looks very thin and with a few players on the verge of a move to Elland Road, that issue should be sorted very soon. That hasn’t done anything to convince the fans that Vieira’s exit is the right move though. Lewis Baker has come in on loan to play in centre-midfield and with a few others coming in to fill the gaps in a light squad, most of the Whites thought that Vieira would be one of those given game time this season.

Bizarre how we sell youth players continually. Lessons still not learnt.

If Bielsa sees him as 4th choice and someone comes in with a 6.5 mill bid regardless if hes an academy product or not its good business as long as its reinvested back and even if it pays for Bamford that still leaves us with money to play with.

Hopefully it’ll be reinvested

The fans are far from happy with Vieira’s imminent departure, but it’s a move that they’ll have to get over as the youngster clearly isn’t in Bielsa’s plans.
