Leeds fans slate Lewis Baker for showing vs Reading

Bailey Peacock-Farrell was heavily slated by Leeds supporters prior to the international break for his showing against West Bromwich Albion, but he redeemed himself last night with a late penalty save to clinch all three points at Elland Road.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side were far from their vintage best but they claimed another vital victory in their bid for promotion last night.

Stuart Dallas scored the only goal of the game in the 60th minute to continue his impressive form from the international break, and his strike ensured that Leeds are now just one point behind league leaders Norwich City.

Bielsa made the decision to hand Lewis Baker his first league start for the club since he arrived on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea and, despite showing signs of promise in his cameo performances as a substitute, he struggled to get to grips with proceedings and was withdrawn at half-time.

It was a bitterly disappointing showing from a player who clearly possesses a strong level of technical ability, but the fans on Twitter showed little sympathy for the 23-year-old.

Indeed, a handful of the Whites faithful took to social media to slate Baker for his abysmal first-half showing, with many accusing him of being completely anonymous in midfield.

Here’s what the Leeds fans had to say about Baker’s performance last night…

That’s Lewis Baker finished at Leeds

Not surprised to see both Lewis Baker & Gjanni Alioski to go off, both been poor first half #lufc #mot
