Leeds fans take to Twitter to pray for Jansson fitness

After losing to Sheffield United at home and having their goalkeeper sent off on Saturday, the last thing that Leeds United fans needed was the news that Pontus Jansson is injured. However, with the Swede pulling out of his country’s national side for upcoming games against Romania and Norway, his knee problem is a real concern.

The news of the defender’s injury delivered to the fans as ever by Phil Hay of The Yorkshire Evening Post, is a massive blow in the White’s pursuit of promotion. The last thing that the fans want is for their commanding defender to miss a length of time as the fear of only making the playoffs is real. Should the Whites not go up this season it would be a thorough disaster, and that could be a reality now.

With just eight Championship games left, the Whites sit just outside of the top two by one point, with both Norwich and the Blades ahead of them. The run-in will be tough and there will surely be twists and turns between now and the end of the season, and the Elland Road faithful will only truly be confident of making it back to the top flight automatically if they get their passionate Swedish defender back in time for their clash with Millwall after the international break.

The Whites are not prepared to face their last eight games of the season without Jansson and will be desperately hoping he passes fit.
