Football Insider have revealed that Leeds United may not be able to sign Jack Harrison until August from parent club Manchester City.
The Yorkshire club are ready to trigger a clause in the winger’s loan deal which will see him move to Elland Road on a permanent basis.
Having arrived last summer from Premier League champions Manchester City, Harrison has been impressive under the guidance of Marcelo Bielsa, with five goals and seven assists to his name, and his performances have helped the Whites to reach top spot in the Championship table. On the verge of a promotion to the Premier League, Leeds will undoubtedly be looking to develop a squad ahead of a potential return to England’s top flight and Bielsa seemingly feels that Harrison is key to that mission.
A league source has spoken to Football Insider about the summer transfer window and claimed that it may not be opened until the end of the 2019/20 season and after the Champions League final. That could potentially mean that Leeds will have to wait to secure a permanent deal for, and terms with, Harrison.
Harrison has been superb this season and there should be no reason why he can’t go on to become a top performer in the Premier League.
Man City were seemingly happy to include a buy-out clause in the loan to Leeds but they may live to regret that if Harrison can repeat his performances this term through to next season.
Leeds are on the verge of promotion to the Premier League and they will need players like Harrison to ensure Bielsa’s plans continue to move along nicely.
