Leeds United are preparing for their Premier League return next month and remain in the market for new additions during the summer transfer window.
The West Yorkshire giants have already conducted some impressive business, securing the signings of Anton Stach from Hoffenheim, Jaka Bijol from Udinese, Lukas Nmecha from Wolfsburg and Sean Longstaff from Newcastle United.
However, they are keen to further strengthen their centre-forward position ahead of the new campaign and are eager to bring in a proven goal-scorer before the window closes.
Daniel Farke has made it clear that Patrick Bamford is not part of his plans at Elland Road, while Mateo Joseph could also be sold.
That would leave Joel Piroe as the only recognised striker available to the German manager next season, along with new signing Nmecha.
Leeds have been linked with several forwards, including free agent and former Newcastle star Callum Wilson, although reports suggest he is set to join West Ham United.
It is now being reported that Leeds are set to compete with the Hammers once again, this time for AS Roma forward Artem Dovbyk.
According to Italian news outlet Giallorossi, Leeds have enquired about the possibility of signing the Ukrainian striker but will face stiff competition from West Ham.
The report claims that Roma are keen to retain the player and will not entertain offers below €35m (£30m).
Should Leeds sign Artem Dovbyk?

After shocking Spanish football by helping Girona qualify for the Champions League, Artem Dovbyk made a £26m move to Roma last summer, turning down offers from both Atlético Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.
Before his departure to Serie A, the 28-year-old finished as La Liga’s top scorer, netting 24 goals in 36 league appearances – an impressive output that made him one of the most sought-after strikers in the summer of 2024.
In his debut season at Roma, Dovbyk made 45 appearances, scoring 17 goals and providing four assists, averaging a goal contribution every 152 minutes.
Once dubbed an “interesting prospect” by Daniele De Rossi, the Ukrainian forward has proved himself at the highest level and would be an excellent signing for Leeds if he could produce consistently in front of goal at Elland Road.
However, with his 29th birthday approaching this week, he may not represent a long-term solution.
The Whites have also been heavily linked with Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz, although the West London club are reportedly demanding £50m for their striker, making it a significantly larger investment.
As a result, Leeds’ hierarchy face a major decision regarding their next move for a centre-forward and whether they are willing to commit to a £30m+ deal for Dovbyk.
