Former Leeds United goalkeeper Paul Robinson believes Jack Harrison will start over Helder Costa against Liverpool.

The Whites return to Premier League action on Monday evening, welcoming the reigning champions to Elland Road for an exciting-looking clash.

Leeds will be aiming to record a second successive memorable victory in the league, following their incredible 2-1 win away to Manchester City last weekend.

Marcelo Bielsa has a few selection headaches ahead of the game, with Harrison potentially battling with Costa for a starting berth against Liverpool.

Robinson believes Harrison will start against Liverpool

Speaking to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said he expects Harrison to get the nod over his £9million-valued teammate, having missed the City game through injury:

"Jack comes back in on Monday – he starts for me. Costa played well but Harrison has done nothing to lose his place, he’s just a victim of circumstance.

"For me, he keeps his place because he’s been playing better than Costa recently. Costa has put in some really poor performances this season.

"For me, Jack comes back in for what is a free hit for me against Liverpool.

"The result against Man City was sensational, Leeds are completely safe in the Premier League, and anything they get now is a bonus.

"That makes Leeds a very dangerous team to play against at the moment."

Transfer Tavern take

It may seem harsh to axe Costa, considering he started in the memorable win at Man City, but as Robinson states, Harrison has done nothing wrong to lose his place.

He is now back fit and raring to go, with his seven goals and five assists in the league this season superior to Costa's tally of three apiece, respectively.

Harrison also found the net in Leeds' 4-3 defeat away to Liverpool on the opening weekend of the season, showing that he can be a threat to Jurgen Klopp's side and may fancy his chance to bag against them once more.
