Leeds United star Kalvin Phillips is prepared to sign a new long-term contract at Elland Road, according to journalist David Anderson.
The Lowdown: Star man for Leeds
There have been numerous players who have shone under Marcelo Bielsa, but Phillips has arguably been the main hero of this era at Elland Road – every football fan wants to see local lads in their first-team.
The 25-year-old has not only performed heroically in the middle of the park for Leeds, but he also shone for England at Euro 2020, winning his country’s Player of the Year award in the process.
The Latest: New deal incoming?
He states in an all-important eight-word verdict that the midfielder is ‘ready to sign a new deal at Leeds‘.
The reporter also claims Phillips ‘loves the club, is happy there and feels he is achieving all his football ambitions with them.’

The most important thing is that the Englishman seems legitimately happy at Elland Road, too, rather than eyeing up a move elsewhere.
If the worst-case scenario does happen and Phillips eventually wants to leave, Leeds will at least be able to demand huge money for him if he signs a new deal.
