Liverpool are among a host of clubs interested in signing Leeds United winger Raphinha this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Lowdown: Raphinha returns to form for Leeds

The Whites picked up a massive 2-1 win at home to Norwich City on Sunday afternoon, with Joe Gelhardt netting the winner in stoppage time.

It was Raphinha who set up the goal and the Brazilian was back to his best at Elland Road, twice hitting the crossbar and looking a threat throughout.

However, the winger has been linked with an exit from Leeds in recent months, and a fresh update has now emerged in that regard.

The Latest: Liverpool keen on move for Raphinha

Taking to Twitter on Monday, Romano claimed that Liverpool are in the hunt to sign Raphinha this summer, along with some other elite clubs.

The journalist reported: "Barcelona are interested in Raphinha alongside Premier League clubs, including Liverpool [Chelsea wanted him, now in stand-by]. Barça already discussed about Raphinha with Deco. No talks yet with Leeds - as price depends on their PL future and potential buy out clauses."

The Verdict: Summer exit seems likely

In truth, there seems to be a certain inevitability about Raphinha moving on at the end of the season, especially if Leeds are relegated to the Championship.

The 25-year-old will surely have lofty ambitions in his career as he looks to become a fixture in Brazil's team ahead of the World Cup, having been given his debut last October, so a summer move could appeal to him.

Liverpool could be a tailor-made club for Raphinha to join, particularly if Mohamed Salah ends up moving on amid doubts over his future at Anfield, with Rio Ferdinand calling the Leeds star 'phenomenal' in the past.
