Leeds United are thought to be eyeing up the potential signing of Serbia and Torino midfielder Sasa Lukic, according to a fresh transfer rumour.

The Lowdown: Lukic impressing in Italy

The 26-year-old has become a key man for Torino as the years have passed, making a total of 163 appearances for the Serie A side.

This season, Lukic has continued to be an influential figure for the Turin-based club, playing 12 times in the league and enjoying an 88.7% pass completion rate.

He is currently on World Cup duty with Serbia, with an enticing game with Brazil to look forward to in their opener on Thursday evening.

The Latest: Leeds eyeing up move

That's according to TuttoMercatoWeb [via Sport Witness], who claim that Leeds have 'not hidden their interest' in Lukic, with Roma also in the same situation.

The Serb has hinted at leaving Torino, saying he has 'big ambitions' for the future.

The Verdict: Strong midfield option

Lukic could be an ideal signing for Leeds, either in January or next summer, providing Jesse Marsch with more quality and energy in the middle of the park.

He averaged 2.6 tackles per game for Serbia in World Cup qualification, as well as the same number of fouls, highlighting what a tenacious player he is.

With Stuart Dallas and Adam Forshaw two midfielders who are likely past their best after respective injury problems, and with Kalvin Phillips no longer at Leeds, Lukic could make a big difference alongside the likes of Tyler Adams and Marc Roca.
