Leeds United are on the verge of signing exciting Birmingham City youngster Amari Miller following an update from journalist Mike McGrath.
The Lowdown: Miller linked with Leeds move
Marcelo Bielsa may well be looking to sign experienced players who can immediately become key figures in the team this summer, but he will also hopefully be looking to the years ahead.
While Leeds’ current rise is hugely exciting for supporters, it is vital that the club plan well into the future, ensuring their upward curve doesn’t end abruptly.
The Latest: Deal edges closer
It is noted that that is because of Miller’s impending move to Leeds, even though Tottenham, Everton and Southampton have also shown an interest in signing him.
The Verdict: Hugely exciting prospect
Snapping up emerging homegrown talent is generally a positive development and it will be fascinating to see how Miller fares working under Bielsa.
Birmingham boss Lee Bowyer has claimed of the teenager that ‘senior players love him’, so it looks as though the Whites may have a gem on their hands if they can get this transfer over the line.
Assuming the deal goes through, a loan move elsewhere could be likely next season, but hopefully it may not be too long before Leeds fans get to see what all the fuss is about.
In other news, Leeds’ interest in one attacker has been played down. Find out who it is here.
