Leeds United left-back Barry Douglas will reportedly leave Elland Road at the end of the season, following three years at the club.

The 31-year-old made the move to the Whites back in the summer of 2018,  with the Scotland international joining from Wolves.

Having featured regularly during his first season at Leeds, making 27 Championship appearances, he has slipped down the pecking order as time has gone by.

Douglas has spent the 2020/21 campaign on loan at Blackburn Rovers and it now appears as though a permanent Leeds exit is close.

Douglas set to leave Leeds

According to Football Insider, the defender will leave when his contract expires at the end of May, with Marcelo Bielsa seeing no future for him at the club.

Douglas is expected to be joined out of the exit door by Ezgjan Alioski, with the 29-year-old recently tipped to have agreed to join Galatasaray.

Transfer Tavern take

It makes perfect sense for Douglas to move on, both for himself and Leeds, allowing him to enjoy regular football elsewhere.

The fact that the Whites are getting rid of both him and Alioski highlights the need for a new left-back to come in, however, with Bielsa surely eyeing up a signing in that area.
