Valencia are reportedly interested in signing Leeds United winger Helder Costa, with the Whites happy for him to leave on transfer deadline day.

The Lowdown: Costa free to leave

Leeds have a strong squad under Marcelo Bielsa these days, but Costa has been a peripheral figure, playing just once in the Premier League this season and appearing for just 20 minutes in the current top-flight campaign.

The Whites are reportedly willing to allow the 27-year-old to leave before deadline day is finished and one club are reportedly keen on signing him.

The Latest: Valencia keen on move

According to Sky Sports News, Valencia are interested in acquiring Costa's signature, with Daniel James' move to Elland Road making him expendable.

The 27-year-old's current Leeds deal doesn't expire until the summer of 2024, so a loan move may make the most sense for the time being.

The Verdict: Good for all parties

Costa has arguably never quite got going in a Whites shirt, scoring just eight goals in 71 appearances and gradually falling further down the pecking order under Bielsa and shipping some heavy criticism from former Leeds striker Noel Whelan.

However, he is a "very talented" winger in the words of his former Wolves manager Helder Costa, and he could thrive with a change of scenery in La Liga, hopefully returning to make a stronger claim for a starting place at Elland Road.
