Leeds United will do business before the summer transfer window ends, namely signing Lewis O'Brien, according to Sky Sports pundit Kevin Campbell.

The Lowdown: O'Brien constantly linked with move

The Whites have been relatively quiet in the summer transfer window, but one player who has been continually linked with a move to the club is O'Brien.

The 22-year-old is a key man for Championship side Huddersfield Town, shining in midfield and winning his side's Player of the Year award in 2019/20.

The Latest: Campbell makes positive prediction

Speaking to Football Insider, former Arsenal and Everton striker Campbell was bullish about Leeds doing more transfer business, suggesting O'Brien will come in and add to the 'massive' boost of having Kalvin Phillips back.

The outlet have previously claimed the player is ready to quit Huddersfield for Elland Road.

"They are weaker without Kalvin Phillips in there, for sure.

"The Man United game, I thought they’d have lost with him anyway. But he is so important to them and it is massive for Leeds to have him back.

"But O’Brien does stiffen that midfield up. He’s a really, really good player. I think they will definitely look to strengthen."

The Verdict: Get it done

While it wouldn't necessarily be a disaster if Leeds made no more signings this summer, it would also be frustrating, particularly if no midfield reinforcements come in.

O'Brien looks an ideal figure to join the Whites, not signing as a key man but acting as a strong backup for Phillips, allowing him some rest and rotation after he followed a long season with a gruelling Euro 2020 campaign.

The Terriers star averaged an impressive two tackles and 1.2 dribbles per game in the league last season, showing that he is effective both on and off the ball.
