The Manchester City fans here in the Transfer Tavern have not been too happy with the club’s season during 2016/17 and never expected their team to finish so far away from Chelsea in the Barclays Premier League.

Admittedly the Citizens could, of course, still win the title but after several disappointing occasions during the campaign their chances look remote at very best right now.

Pep Guardiola will have a massive summer on his hands if he is to revive the club’s fortunes and the Citizens fans here in the Tavern are hopeful that a squad overhaul will take place during the summer.

With that in mind, our landlord looked at three of the current Manchester City squad that should just be flogged in the summer, to make way for new players to arrive at the Etihad Stadium.

Claudio Bravo

The summer signing from Barcelona has drawn vast criticism from the Manchester City supporters here in the Transfer Tavern this season and it might be wise to send the flop on his way at the end of the season.

The stopper simply doesn’t make saves and for a goalkeeper that is not a great weakness to have! One City fan is sat chatting to his pal at the bar and they are both of the belief that Joe Hart would make a much better number one for City next season than the hapless Bravo.

Jesus Navas

The Spanish winger just doesn’t seem capable of holding down a regular place in Pep Guardiola’s side and he could be cast adrift from the club during the summer months.

One City fan is having a pot of tea to try and help him over the monster hangover which he picked up last night during a heavy session in the Tavern and he agrees that Navas should be one of the first players sold in the summer.

Nolito

Another Spaniard who has failed to hold down a regular starting spot under Pep Guardiola is Nolito and the little winger could also be loaned out or sold during the summer.

One City fan is throwing some darts here in the Transfer Tavern and he agrees that Nolito just doesn’t appear to suited to English football, stating that his wages could be freed up to allow for some stellar recruits to arrive at the club.
