The Crystal Palace fans in the Transfer Tavern were disappointed not to take anything away from their match with Arsenal last night.
Roy Hodgson’s side have been slowly creeping up the table in recent weeks as they look to steer clear from the relegation zone and avoid a scrap for survival this season. Palace failed to emulate their heroics from the last time Arsenal visited Selhurst park, as they slumped to a 3-2 defeat against The Gunners thanks to a brace from Alexis Sanchez and a rare goal from Shkodran Mustafi.
Andros Townsend temporarily gave The Eagles hope of achieving a positive result against Arsenal with a 49th minute equaliser, but Sanchez grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck shortly afterwards and his quick-fire brace ensured the 3 points would be heading back to North-London.
In the aftermath of proceedings, the Palace fans took to Twitter to analyse their side’s performance and sought to establish where the match was won and lost.
And Palace’s first-choice striker Christian Benteke came in for plenty of criticism following his lacklustre performance yesterday evening.
So far this season, Benteke has managed to score just 1 goal and lay on 1 assist from 14 Premier League matches, so it is no wonder that the supporters are starting to become frustrated with the Belgian international.
