Liverpool and Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern were disappointed to hear a reported target seemed off the table- but both Premier League outfits have been given hopes of securing a deal.
19-year-old Real Betis star Dani Ceballos has been linked with a move to Arsenal, whilst Liverpool and Spanish giants Real Madrid were also scouting the impressive teenager.
However, hopes of signing the player received a major blow upon an announcement that he penned a new five-year deal with Betis; something he claimed he always wanted to do, suggesting an exit was never in his mind.
Whilst the new deal appears to rule-out any exit for Ceballos, Goal report the new contract included a release clause of between £8.8-11m; meaning a January exit, or move next summer, should still be easy to complete.
Ceballos, dubbed the new Cesc Fabregas, could provide a major boost to both Premier League clubs are our regulars are debating which English side would be better for him to join- believing that it would be easy to secure a deal due to the release clause.
