Liverpool consider swap deal

reina.jpgHere in the Football Transfer Tavern we have been shocked by the latest claim from Fantix who think that Liverpool may be ready to sell Pepe Reina in order to land a Barcelona player.

The keeper has been linked with a move away from the club and despite the denials from Brendan Rodgers over the potential of a move, it is now thought that Liverpool would consider letting Reina move to the Catalan giants after the Reds set their sights on Cristian Tello.

The young player has often been linked with a move away from the Camp Nou in order to gain first team football, and along with Arsenal, Liverpool are one of the teams he has been most frequently linked with.

Tello is thought to be available this summer for around £10 million and given the fact that a host of clubs are after the player, Liverpool are willing to offer Pepe Reina as part of the deal to place themselves firmly at the front of the queue.

Barcelona are in the market for a keeper after Victor Valdes claimed that he will not be extending his current deal which expires in the summer of 2014 and Tito Vilanova’s club feel that he may even leave this summer should a new club line him up.

Are Liverpool really interested in such a swap deal or has this rumour been at the booze? Rate this rumour below.
