Liverpool could be set for January defender deal

After disposing of Tottenham Hotspur in the EFL Cup last night, the Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been celebrating ever since.

Jurgen Klopp’s side won the battle of the two most dynamic Premier League sides against their north London counterparts, thanks in no small part to a certain Daniel Sturridge.

With so much attacking enterprise to get excited about, the Reds propping up the bar have been handed interesting reports from French outlet Mercato365

They claim that Ligue 1 outfit Lille are exploring the possibility of bringing outcast Anfield defender Mamadou Sakho either in January or next summer.

Despite his standing as one of the most popular players on Merseyside when at his best, the French international was sent home from the club’s pre-season tour of America earlier this year after falling out with Klopp.

He’s been on the periphery of the first-team after a nightmare few months and Les Dogues are reportedly eyeing a move to bring the ex-PSG man back to his homeland.

Can Sakho still save his Liverpool career? Let us know below…
