Plenty of Liverpool fans have been having their say on the club’s decision to gift their share of the gate receipts from the FA Cup fourth round tie against Shrewsbury Town.
The Reds overcame Sam Ricketts’ side 1-0 in the replay at Anfield last week, with under-23s manager Neil Critchley and his team taking the place of Klopp and the seniors. The German tactician came under some criticism after he decided to honour the winter break and the club consequently reduced the ticket prices to compensate for the lack of star talent on show for the hosts.
Liverpool made the effort to subsidise any loss of revenue for the League One side by giving them their share of the gate receipts. As a result, many Reds supporters were full of praise for their side and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that this is the reason why they love the club, while another applauded the gesture.
