Perhaps one of the biggest ongoing transfer rumours surrounding Liverpool (other than Nabil Fekir) is ex-Red Philippe Coutinho. Many fans have washed their hands of him completely, but as talks ramp up over an Anfield return, others can’t help but fall back in love.
The Brazilian was a club favourite during his five years at Liverpool, scoring some superb goals and securing even better wins. His departure from the club, however is still raw with some Kopites who are still livid over his faked back injury (GiveMeSport).
The thing is though, Liverpool never truly replaced Coutinho after he left. They spent the money wisely, but the Reds are still without an attacking midfielder with the capability of the little Brazilian. Rumours have crept into the limelight once again, linking Coutinho to a move back to Anfield if he is to be recalled by Barcelona. (via Sport).
This news has divided the Liverpool fanbase, with plenty completely opposed to the idea while others are hopeful Michael Edwards will ‘bring him home’. One fan has boldly stated he is ‘better than Sancho’, another player who has been linked with a move to Merseyside (FourFourTwo).
