Liverpool fans are full of praise for Trent Alexander-Arnold after Golden Boy nomination

Liverpool have had a lot to celebrate over the last few weeks, and they were given something else to smile about this week. As reiterated by Liverpool over on their official website, young defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has been nominated for the prestigious Golden Boy award.

Founded by Italian outlet Tuttosport, the award is given to the most talented and impressive young footballer in Europe. Alexander-Arnold is certainly in some impressive company, with players like Kylian Mbappe and Christian Pulisic all featured on the nomination list.

That said, he certainly deserves to be among the top players in the continent. He’s now comfortably Jurgen Klopp’s first choice right-back, and he’s emerged as one of the Premier League’s most consistent defenders.

Liverpool shared the news on their official Twitter page, and it’s fair to say that in response, many fans have been waxing lyrical about the 3-cap England international.

One fan has even touted him as better than Tottenham’s Kieran Trippier. This is an interesting comparison, given that the duo will be battling it out for a starting berth on the right-hand side of the England defence over the next few years. It’s hard to argue against that sentiment, though.
